Does filtering or sorting results change the violation status?

No. Filters and sorting do not change the applied policy. Violation badges, hides and blocks stay the same. The "Max markup over cheapest" rule always compares with the cheapest possible trip for the same search, so sorting or filtering doesn't change which trip counts as the cheapest.
