Visas: How to Read the Result

Last updated on Sep 28, 2026

Every traveller gets their own card. The headline is the verdict, and the rest of the card is the evidence behind it.

The verdicts

  • No visa needed — entry on the passport alone, with the maximum stay stated.
  • e-Visa required — we obtain it / Electronic travel authorisation required — we obtain it — an e-visa, eTA or ETA that is filed online for a destination we can order. This is the case we handle end to end.
  • Electronic visa required — an e-visa we don't file for this destination. The card links to the official portal so you can apply there.
  • Visa on arrival — it can be bought at the border. Where an online authorisation also exists, we say so and recommend it: no border queue and no risk of being turned away at the desk.
  • Consulate visa required — the visa is issued by an embassy or consulate, in person, with an interview or biometrics. We do not file these. The card links you to the official site so you can start there.
  • Arrival card required — a free digital form due before landing. We complete it as part of the order.
  • Entry not permitted — the traveller can't enter the country on this passport.

What else is on the card

  • Program — the exact authorisation, its entry type (single or double entry), how long the traveller may stay and how long the authorisation stays valid.
  • Timing — how many days the portal usually takes, and how many days are left before entry. If the trip is too close for the standard processing time, the card says so.
  • Required — documents and conditions the portal insists on: passport validity, a confirmed return ticket, proof of funds, business documents, whether a photo upload is needed.
  • Official portal — a direct link to the government site, always.
  • Verified on — the date we last checked this program's fees and rules against the official portal.

Entry rules change without notice. The official portal is the final word, and the card links to it for exactly that reason.
