Block airlines your company doesn't fly with, or let travellers book them only with approval. Each airline gets its own setting.
Where to find it
Trip settings → Travel policies → open a policy → Flight tab → Airline restrictions.
How to restrict an airline
- Open a policy, or click Create policy.
- Go to the Flight tab → Airline restrictions.
- Type in Add an airline… and pick the airline from the list. A new row starts as Show, but require approval.
- For each airline, choose:
- Hide offers of this airline: its flights don't appear in results.
- Show, but require approval: its flights appear with the Violates policy badge and the reason "Airline is not allowed by the travel policy", and the booking goes for approval.
- To remove an airline, click × on its row.
- Save.
Good to know
- Codeshare flights are checked against both the airline selling the ticket and the airline operating the flight.
- The per-airline setting works alongside the policy's general When a booking is out of policy mode.
- Restrictions apply to the roles, users or departments the policy is assigned to under Applies to.
- If a traveller switches fare in the basket, airline restrictions are checked again for the new fare.
FAQ
We blocked an airline, but I still see its flight number. Codeshares are checked by both the selling and the operating airline. Run a fresh search, because results are kept for a short time.
Can we block an airline for some employees only? Yes. Add the restriction to a policy assigned to those roles, users or departments.
Can a traveller pay the difference to book a restricted airline? No. Split payment covers price limits only, not airline restrictions.
