"Only fully refundable": how the refundable-fares rule works

Last updated on Sep 28, 2026

Turn this rule on to steer travellers towards fares they can get their money back for. It works for flights and, separately, for hotels.

Where to find it

Trip settings → Travel policies → open a policy → Flight tab (or Hotel tab) → Only fully refundable.

How to switch it on

  1. Open the policy.
  2. On the Flight tab, switch on Only fully refundable. For hotels, use the same switch on the Hotel tab.
  3. Save.

Good to know

  • For flights, fares the airline marks as non-refundable are flagged as out of policy with the reason "Offer is non-refundable".
  • Where the airline doesn't publish refund conditions with the fare, the fare isn't flagged. Check the fare rules before booking.
  • A fare the airline marks as refundable counts as refundable, even if a cancellation fee applies.

FAQ

Why is a fare flagged "Offer is non-refundable"? The airline states this fare can't be refunded, and your policy requires refundable fares.

Is a fare with a cancellation fee "refundable"? Yes, if the airline marks it as refundable. Check the fare rules for the exact penalty.

A fare isn't flagged, but I'm not sure it's refundable. What should I do? Open the fare rules and check the refund conditions before you book.
