Airline credits: keep track of unused ticket value

Last updated on Sep 28, 2026

When a ticket is cancelled or changed, the airline often keeps its value as a credit. Airline credits keeps these in one place, shows them in flight search before they expire, and reminds you ahead of the expiry date.

Where to find it

User menu (your name at the bottom of the sidebar) → Airline credits (/app/airline-credits).

How to add a credit

  1. Click Add credit.
  2. Fill in:
    • Airline code (IATA), for example UA (required);
    • Airline name (optional);
    • Remaining value and its currency: USD, EUR, GBP or AED (required);
    • Expires on (required);
    • Original ticket number, Passenger and Note (optional);
    • tick "Any traveler of the company may use it (per the carrier's terms)" if the credit is transferable.
  3. Click Add credit. You see "Credit saved".

How to manage credits

On each credit card, editors can:

  • Mark as used (click again to make it active);
  • edit it with the pencil icon;
  • remove it with the bin icon.

Editors also choose the company rule in Using credits:

  • Optional: travellers see a matching credit under the fare and may use it.
  • Mandatory — use first: travellers are asked to use a matching credit before paying for a new ticket.

How credits appear in flight search

  • Before you search, a banner "Your company holds airline credits" lists them by airline. Click Search → to look for flights on that airline, or All company credits → to open the page.
  • In the results, under the fare of an airline where you hold a credit, you see for example "use $415 United credit" with its expiry date (or "required by company policy").
  • Click it to see the details. Choose the fare as usual. Your travel manager applies the credit when the ticket is issued, and only the difference is charged.

Good to know

  • Each credit shows its value, expiry and who can use it: "Locked to …", "Issued to …" (transferable) or "Any traveler of the company".
  • Badges: Active; "Expires in N days" (amber, within 30 days); "Expires today"; Expired; Used.
  • The summary at the top shows the number of active credits and totals per currency.
  • Credits are added by hand on this page.
  • The fare in search is shown before the credit. The credit is applied when the ticket is issued.
  • Expiry reminders are sent 30, 14, 7, 1 and 0 days before a credit expires. They go to the account owner, Directors and Travel managers by email, Telegram and the in-app bell. All credits that reach a reminder date on the same day come in one message, with links to flight search and the credits page.
  • You can manage these reminders in your notification settings: "Airline credit about to expire" in the "Airline credits" group.
