Personal trip mode: book a private trip without the company policy

Last updated on Sep 28, 2026

Personal trip mode lets you book a private trip in the same account. While it's on, your company's travel policy doesn't apply to flights, rail and hotels, you pay with your own money, and the trip stays private.

Where to find it

Click your account or company block in the sidebar. The Personal trip switch is in the dropdown.

How to book a personal trip

  1. Click your account or company block in the sidebar.
  2. Switch on Personal trip. A banner appears at the top of every page.
  3. Search and book as usual.
  4. Pay with your own card or crypto.
  5. To return, click Back to a business trip in the banner, or switch the toggle off.

Good to know

  • Flights, rail, bus, ferry and hotels are searched without the company travel policy, so nothing is marked Violates policy.
  • No approval is needed: neither policy approval nor trip-amount approval.
  • Only your own payment methods can be used. Company payment methods aren't offered.
  • The order is marked personal and kept private.
  • Company negotiated rates don't apply to personal trips.
  • The mode stays on across page reloads and sign-ins until you switch it off.

FAQ

I don't see the Personal trip switch. Your company hasn't allowed personal payment methods. Ask your administrator.

Will my manager see my personal trip? No. Personal trips are private and aren't shown in the company's order lists.

Why can't I pay with the company card? Personal trips are paid with your own money only.

Do hotel price limits apply in personal mode? No. The company hotel policy is off, just like the flight and rail policy.
